Where passion becomes story

A Wiesmann is more than a car. It attracts people, opens conversations and makes every drive something special. This is where the stories behind my MF4 GT gradually take shape.

Klassikwelt Bodensee

From 12 to 14 June 2026, the White Gecko was on display at Klassikwelt Bodensee – directly in the foyer, as part of the special exhibition “Past Brands”.

For me, this appearance was a wonderful opportunity to give the MF4 GT a stage. Wiesmann is a brand you do not see every day – and that is exactly why it fits so well into an environment where automotive passion, rare manufactory quality and personal stories come together.

At the same time, it was never only about displaying the car. I enjoyed good conversations, meeting like-minded people and seeing visitors pause when they looked at the car because they sensed: there is something special here.

By the way: What would you guess – how many kilometres has this gecko already covered? The answer surprises many people and says a lot about this special MF4 GT. More on that under My MF4 GT.

How it all began

For a long time, a Wiesmann was a true dream from my youth – one of those cars you do not simply own, but develop a special passion for.

Then, in March 2026, a white MF4 GT suddenly appeared on mobile.de – and very close to me. The first contact with the original owner, Mr Meyer, was already something special. You could immediately feel that this car was not just a car to him. After 18 years together, countless experiences and at the proud age of 87, letting it go was visibly difficult for him. That connection with the car deeply impressed me – and at the same time showed me that this Wiesmann had always been in the right hands.

Test drive – first stop: the petrol station.

During the test drive, I was completely won over. The flawless technical and visual condition, the presence, the driving feel – everything about this car grabbed me immediately. The car had already covered almost 300,000 kilometres, but for me that made it even more fascinating. Not a lifeless collector’s item from a garage, but a true Gran Turismo that had been driven, cared for and loved.

As an engineer at BMW, and with familiar BMW technology under the Wiesmann body, I was able to assess the condition well and saw little risk of hidden technical problems. The complete history, all documents and three bulging folders were available.

It was no ordinary car purchase: after several hours of technical documents, stories and shared experiences, the purchase contract was sealed over a good glass of white wine. The evening at the castle did not end until around midnight.

Mr Silme is also part of the special history of my MF4 GT – a valued employee of the Wiesmann manufactory who looked after this car again and again throughout those 18 years. After the insolvency, he continued the journey with Martin Wiesmann at Drehzahl & Momente and remained connected to it until the company was closed for age-related reasons.

“Every Wiesmann that I helped build, repaired and improved with my own ideas contains a great deal of my heart and soul.” – Adil Silme

That makes my MF4 GT not only a rare car, but a car shaped by people who truly live this brand.

Since 19 March 2026, I have been able to call this MF4 GT #180 my own – and for the gecko, this begins another chapter under the name

The White Gecko.

Wiesmann Club

Only a few weeks after the purchase, the next highlight came along: the Wiesmann Club was on the road with around 40 cars for a week in the Allgäu and Lake Constance region. The “Allgäu/Bodensee Tour” from 2 to 9 May 2026 therefore passed almost right by my front door.

I contacted the chairman – and was immediately warmly welcomed as a guest driver. The first kilometres together in convoy were an experience in themselves: Wiesmanns ahead and behind, that unmistakable sound, the winding roads of the Allgäu – and a car that practically clings to the asphalt in the corners.

Almost as impressive as the driving itself was the reaction of people along the way. Everywhere, the cars attracted attention, open looks, questions and enthusiasm. A special experience came on 3 May 2026, when we were welcomed with our geckos directly on the town hall square in Wangen’s old town – including a greeting by the mayor, alphorns, cheese tasting and many interested visitors. The atmosphere was warm, lively and full of genuine enthusiasm for these special cars.

The club community itself also convinced me immediately: open, helpful, enthusiastic and completely uncomplicated. From the very first moment I felt welcome. The guest driver quickly became a member.

The next major highlight is the 25th anniversary of the Wiesmann Club on 4 July 2026 in Dülmen – directly at the former factory, together with Martin Wiesmann and more than one hundred cars. It already feels like a very special date.
